Spirit Lake, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Those in need can pick up a free pork loin this Saturday in Spirit Lake, thanks to Dickinson County Hunger Coalition, Iowa Lakeside Laboratory and Krafty’s Meat Market.

They have provided 500 pieces of 3–5-pound pork loins, and will be distributed at Iowa Lakeside Lab Saturday, Feb 15 from 11-1, or until supplies last.

Dickinson County pantries are currently seeing record high numbers, and the Food Bank of Iowa states one in 9 Iowans struggle with food access. The Fiscal Year 2024 Impact Report also says one-third of Iowa households do not make enough to cover basic needs.

The event is open to any one in need, with one pork loin per car. You can access Lakeside Lab on Highway 86 through the south gate.
