OKOBOJI, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Dickinson County Nature Playscape Project has received a major fundraising boost.
The Conservation Foundation of Dickinson County has received a $112,000 grant from the Andrea Waitt Carlton Family Foundation to help complete fundraising efforts for the project.
Amy Heibult with the Dickinson County Conservation Board says the donation is greatly appreciated.
Heibult says the project has been in the fundraising phase for more than a year, and the board hopes to start bid letting soon.
The Nature Playscape will include a variety of interactive features, including sand and water play areas, climbing structures, a swing garden, musical play elements, prairie-themed features, and a wetland boardwalk.
While the primary fundraising goal has been met, donations are still being accepted.
