OKOBOJI, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Nature Playscape, located just across the parking lot from the Nature Center, is set to receive exciting upgrades. Community Relations Coordinator Amy Heibult shared the news in a recent interview, highlighting the enhancements planned for the popular outdoor space.
The upgraded playground will feature several new additions, including large tree log climbing structures, a handicap accessible digging area, a wetland outlook and boardwalk, a swing garden, high tensile netting climbing structures, and hideaway houses made from large tree trunks.
These improvements aim to create an engaging and inclusive environment for youth and families. There has been strong support from the Dickinson County community, with $400,000 already invested in the project.
The project aligns with local tourism efforts, which contribute $300 million locally and $8 billion statewide.
Construction for the park is expected to start either in the fall or next spring.
