Spencer IA, (northwestiowanow)—At the Clay County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday morning there was a presentation and discussion on the Iowa Statewide Interoperable Communications System or (ISICS) for the city of Spencer and Clay County.
After the meeting Clay County EMA Coordinator Eric Tigges spoke with Northwest Iowa Now about the locations of possible future towers in Clay County.
Tigges says the sate wide radio system would have more redundancies than their current system has.
Tigges explains that the Police Department and the Fire Departments currently work on separate systems.
Tigges says that when it comes to the price of the ISICS System there are a lot of factors, and an accurate price can’t be determined until there is a decision from the Board of Supervisors to pursue, or not to pursue the system.
