Clay County, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Angling for more fishing time in your schedule? Make it a priorities if you want to check out TROUT in Scharnberg Saturday, February 7th. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources maintain a strong trout stocking program to provide accessible fishing opportunities year-round.

Naturalist Bri Blom is with Clay County Conservation

Fishing always requires a valid fishing license of course, and there is a required trout fee. But with a daily limit of five fresh fish and possession limit of 10, the DNR program balances conservation and recreation.

So, if you would like to watch them put the fish in the water, Scharnberg Park, west of Spencer is the next trout stock event.

That’s this Saturday, February 7 around noon, or when the truck arrives.

Blom also suggests checking out the trails and cabins when you are at the park for some more outdoor fun. You can contact Clay County Conservation Board to rent many items, and they have information their Facebook page and Mycountyparks.com
