West Bend, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Beginning Tuesday, August 6th the West Bend Water Supply will be doing maintenance and needs to depressurize the system. During this time – it is recommended the water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking until further notice. Water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes.

The city will flush the system, disinfect, and will collect bacteria samples. This advisory is a precaution until bacterial sample results are available. The system is working with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to resolve the situation.
