Sioux City, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Sioux City man with ties to Dickinson County has been convicted by a federal jury of drug crimes.

50-year-old Jonathan Seff had previously been convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. After three days of testimony he has now been found guilty of conspiracy to distribute, distribution near a school, and two counts of possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute.

In January of this year the Dickinson County Sheriff’s department caught intruders in a West Okoboji home, meth, fentanyl, a hallucinogenic drug known as “molly”, and drug paraphernalia. Federal prosecutors say Seff was recorded on a prison phone line instructing the individuals to go to the home where he had been squatting and to “clean-up” the premises.

Seff remains in custody of the U.S. Marshal’s office pending sentencing. He faces up to life in prison and an 8 million dollar fine.
