Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The Clay County officials are moving quickly to overhaul the EMS system following the vote to make Emergency Management an essential service. The EMS Advisory council met this week, and they may seek an outside consultant to create a new, long-term plan.
Supervisors addressed concerns about development ordinances and considering approval for a $500 donation to Iowa State Association of Counties ISAC. This issue is related to the power counties have to determine their local affairs and government, as granted by the Iowa Constitution. The Board leaned towards approval, and a decision will be placed on next agenda for official vote.
Clay County Conservation Director Will Horsley reported to the Supervisors that Oneoda Nature Center construction is back on schedule, and the building itself should be completed by Christmas.
