Big Country 107.7 brought you Twin Lakes Conference action from Emmetsburg as the E-Hawks hosted Manson-Northwest Webster.
The Girl’s contest was all Emmetsburg from the tip, as the E-Hawks jumped out to a 28-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Emmetsburg extended their lead going into the half at 49-25. Manson-Northwest Webster would be outscored again in the 3rd, 25-8, and Emmetsburg cruised to an 86-42 win.
The E-Hawks lit up the Cougars from beyond the arc, hitting 13, led by Nora Nelson’s 25 on the night. Rachel Schaney added 23. Dylan Fiene, Calista Joyce, and Ella Auten were also in double figures for Emmetsburg.
Manson-Northwest Webster was led by Sophia McCullough in the loss, scoring 15.
Emmetsburg is now 9-5 on the season and 5-0 in Lakes Conference play while Manson-Northwest Webster drops to 4-10 and 0-5 in the League.
The Boys contest featured a couple of teams vying for position in the Twin Lakes Conference Standings.
Manson-Northwest Webster took a 12-10 lead after the first quarter and were able to outscore Emmetsburg in the 2nd as well 18-14 in order to lead by 6 at the half. The E-Hawks would come out strong in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Cougars 17-9 to lead 41-39 going into the 4th. Emmetsburg would take control and pull away to win 65-57.
Logan Moline scored 25 to lead Manson-Northwest Webster in the loss.
Emmetsburg was led by Carter Hudson’s 18. Kale Fank had 14 and Byron Maina 10 in the win.
Manson-Northwest Webster now drops to 9-5 on the year and 3-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference.
Emmetsburg picks up another important league victory, now 5-0 in the TLC and 9-3 overall.
Up next for Manson-Northwest Webster will be a road trip to Southeast Valley on the 21st.
Emmetsburg will host Sioux Central on the 21st when they get back in action.
