Emmetsburg, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — About 51 percent of Emmetsburg school district voters approved a bond issue for a new elementary school last fall, but bond issues require a super 60 percent majority.
Superintendent Cory Jenness says the need has not gone away, and the district will put the issue to the public again.

The cost of the building is about the same – roughly 30 million – but Jenness says less of that amount would come from property taxes.

The Emmetsburg school bond issue will be on the November 4th general election ballot.
