Estherville, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Soldiers attached to the Estherville National Guard Armory will complete five years of specialty training this summer and then deploy to the Middle East for the efforts to contain Islamic terrorists. Major General Stepen Osborn discussed the assignment during his address to the state legislature.

There will be a community meeting at the Estherville Armory to explain more about the mission Thursday, April 3rd at 10:30am. Deployment is scheduled for May 29th with a community send-off also being planned.
