ESTHERVILLE, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The City of Estherville is implementing new speed limits on Iowa State Highway No. 4.

The changes, delayed due to staffing issues at the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), include adjustments to a new trail crossing. The Ordinence amends Title II, Division 1, Chapter 2, Article 4, Section 212.409(1) of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Estherville.

City Administrator Penny Clayton tells Northwestiowanow, it will be a minor change in the transition from 30 MPH to 45 MPH, which will now occur just North of Maplecrest Drive.

The city is also approved for four speed feedback signs at the 45 MPH entry points. These changes aim to enhance safety and improve traffic flow for residents and visitors.
