Pocahontas, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Pocahontas Area hosted a Cross-Country Meet on Saturday.

In the Girls Race, Manson-Northwest Webster’s Alyssa Richman won with a time of 18:14.71, ahead of Tyra Schupbach of West Bend-Mallard in the 2nd spot with a time of 18:20.71. Sioux Central’s Linnea Bloom was 4th with a time of 19:43.48. Newell-Fonda’s Danika Meyer took 5th at 20:06.88. Mareni Brabec of Newell-Fonda finished 7th with a time of 20:54.59. Sioux Central’s Karina Bloom was 8th at 21:21.97 and Nora Christian of Sioux Central was 9th at 21:21.97.

Ridge View won the girls meet with 58 points, Sioux Central was 2nd at 74, West Bend-Mallard took 4th at 124, Alta-Aurelia was 5th, Newell-Fonda 6th, Emmetsburg 7th, Pocahontas Area 9th, and GTRA 11th.

South Central Calhoun’s Redge Potts won the boys race, clocking 16:23.51. Sioux Central’s Lucos Wernimont was 3rd at 16:49.9. Alta-Aurelia’s Jacob Launderville was 5th with a time of 17:16.17, followed by Sioux Central’s Leighton Sippel with a time of 17:17.8. Sioux Central went 9-10 with Landon Driver running 17:51.62 and Jack Christian hitting 17:52.86 respectively.

Sioux Central won the Boys Meet with 45 points. Alta-Aurelia was 3rd with 100, Newell-Fonda took 8th and Pocahontas Area was 9th.
