Peterson, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — There was one fatality and several injuries in a Monday morning accident in Peterson. 37 year old Nicholas Seaburg of Pope Joy was Northbound on County Road M-27 and turned left in front of an oncoming semi. He received minor injuries. His front-seat passenger – 42 year old Coree Keller of Popejoy was ejected – despite wearing a seatbelt – and died of injuries at the scene. An 11-year-old female from Popejoy was airlifted to Sanford Children’s hospital and a 7 year old female from Popejoy was airlifted to MercyOne.

The driver of the semi – owned by Bunkers Feed and Supply of Granville – was 69-year-old Marlon Klein of Sheldon. He was not injured.

The accident occurred shortly before 9am. It was covered by the Iowa State Patrol with assistance from the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department.
