Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow) — Work on the West 18th Street Bridge Project is entering its final stages.
During a regular Board of Supervisors meeting Monday, Clay County Engineer Cole Budach provided an update on the project’s progress.
The bridge replacement project began in January and includes reconstruction of the bridge over the Little Sioux River, along with roadway improvements in the area. The project has required months of closures and detours for motorists and pedestrians.
Budach says recent weather has slowed progress but work still remains on track.
Budach also updated supervisors on wetland mitigation work tied to the bridge project.
Budach says the project is expected to be finished sometime in November.
