SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) – Emergency services swiftly responded to a fire at 3601 4th Avenue West.

Heavy smoke was visible upon arrival, prompting firefighters to initially enter the building. However, they had to withdraw due to the fire burning through the roof. Firefighters then accessed the attic and successfully extinguished the blaze. The building sustained severe fire damage to the attic and significant smoke and water damage. Due to the extensive damage, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Emergency services, including Spencer firefighters, police, paramedics, and Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative, arrived within 11 minutes of dispatch. Despite their quick response, the building suffered extensive damage.
