Storm Lake Police have charged five people with rioting as they continue to crack down on fights in the city’s bar district.
The charges stem from a fight at the De Noches Night Club early Sunday morning, September 21. While two people were initially cited for disorderly conduct, police later reviewed surveillance video.
Authorities say the video showed four people throwing glass bottles at others. On Tuesday, police arrested four members of the Regalado Perez family: 28-year-old Jualmi, 25-year-old Jualmiris, 24-year-old Maria, and 22-year-old Elisely. They face charges including Rioting, Assault While Participating in a Felony, and Displaying a Dangerous Weapon.
On Wednesday, a fifth person, 32-year-old Valerie Gonzalez of Spencer, turned herself in. She faces charges of rioting and assault.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information to contact them.
