Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — The Director of the Iowa Flood Center is lobbying for monitoring equipment to cover the entire state. The entity was created after the Cedar Rapids flood and is expanding across the state as federal funding is provided.

Hydrologist Larry Weber has been on the radio with us describing the monitoring on tributaries that feed Iowa’s rivers, but the second part of the equation is Hydro stations that keep track of the soil’s ability to absorb more water at any given time.
