Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Nearly 130 citizens attended a Public Forum Wednesday evening regarding Flood Recovery efforts in Spencer.

A panel of representatives from the city and county were on hand to answer questions submitted by the public – both ahead of time online – and in person. Some of the questions pretained to how the flood will affect property taxes; what if a home is condemned; and how to receive funds and assistance.

Spencer resident Dawn DeBoer tells KICD News she really appreciated being able to attend a forum to get more clarification:

Another Spencer resident in attendance was Crystal Handy – she said it was reassuring to hear about the amount of work that is being done to help:

The city and county will be looking at holding similar forums in the future.
