Eagle Grove, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The Wright County Attorney reports a former police officer in Eagle Grove, Iowa has been arrested and terminated from his position as a police officer, after an investigation that began December 23 found evidence of criminal violations both off duty and while on duty. Colt Allen Richardson, 27, was arrested January 13 by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigated a complaint against Richardson, and is charging him with violation of Iowa Code Section 728.2, Dissemination and Exhibtion of Obscene Material to a Minor, a serious misdemeanor. After reviewing the evidence, the Wright County Attorney’s Office has additionally charged Richardson with Sexual Exploitation of a MInor, a class D felony. Richardson was fired upon charges being filed.

Eagle Grove is located northeast of Fort Dodge.
