Pocahontas, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A traffic stop in rural Pocahontas County led to multiple charges for a Fort Dodge man Sunday afternoon.

A deputy with the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on County Road C66 east of N65 at approximately 4:06 p.m. on July 12.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a subsequent investigation led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Bryan David Messerly, 63, of Fort Dodge, was arrested and charged with Driving While Barred, an aggravated misdemeanor; Possession of Methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Messerly was booked into the Pocahontas County Jail pending further court proceedings.
