Armstrong, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – North Union hosted the Tom Elliott/Jim Godfredsen Relays on Monday in Armstrong.

GTRA’s Kamryn Hough picked up a win for the Titans in the 400m Dash, clocking 1:04.47. This was Hough’s first open 400 of the seasons.

West Bend-Mallard got a gold out of Maddie Fehr in the 200m Dash. Fehr talked about how she needs to remain focused on holding form in her races.

Landon Price of GTRA would go 23.1 seconds in the 200m dash, good for a first-place finish in front of two West Harrison athletes who were both within 8 tenths of a second.

The Wolverine Boys’ Leydan Grimm ran a 1:01.45 in the 400m Hurdles to come away with a first-place finish. The first 250 meters typically are strong for Grimm, but he wants to polish his finish.

In the Girls team scores, West Hancock won with 356.5 points, North Iowa was in 2nd with 207, and North Union took 3rd at 185. GTRA took 4th, West Bend-Mallard was 5th, Estherville Lincoln Central 6th, and Harris-Lake Park took 7th. Harris-Lake Park girls coach Mathew Mentink says the best is yet to come from the Wolves.

For the Boys scores, West Hancock won at 366.5, North Iowa took 2nd at 212, and North Union was 3rd at 185. GTRA was 4th, Estherville Lincoln Central 5th, West Bend-Mallard placed 6th, and Harris-Lake Park would take 7th.

It was another strong day for the GTRA Sprint unit. Boys coach Mike Nichols described the competition and leadership in practice.
