Melvin, IA (KICD) — Fog is blamed for a three vehicle accident Southwest of Melvin Wednesday morning. The Iowa State Patrol has not identified the drivers, but says there were no serious injuries.

A semi operated by a 35 year old Sioux Rapids man was Eastbound on 260th Street and stopped at the sign. He attempted to make a left hand turn onto highway 59, but was struck by a southbound semi operated by a 79 year old male from Alvord.

A passenger in a third vehicle driven by a 33 year old Cherokee woman evaded those two semis, but then was struck by a third one driven by a 61 year old from Bigelow Minnesota.

The accident occurred a few minutes before 8 o’clock.
