Spencer, Ia (KICD) – This is your KICD Friday Football Wrap up.
The Spencer Football team went on the road to take on Sioux Center to wrap up non-district play.
It was a fast start in this one, as Spencer opened up with a 3-Play 65-yard Drive.
After the Tigers took the 7-0 lead, Sioux Center would answer when Cody Sandbulte took off on a 61-yard Touchdown run. The PAT was missed, and Spencer held a 7-6 lead.
It was all Tigers from there. Kamden Young would score his first Touchdown on the season to extend the lead.
On the following drive, Sioux Center would fumble the football, which Spencer would quickly turn into another 6 points.
Spencer led 34-6 going into the half.
After forcing a 3rd Sioux Center fumble on the Warriors opening drive of the 3rd quarter, the Tigers would go on a 12 play 83-yard march, which Kam Young scored his 2nd Touchdown run on. The Vreeman PAT made it 41-6 Spencer.
41-6 is what the final score would be.
The Tigers outgained Sioux Center 454-213, including 362 yards on the ground with 9 different ball carriers. The Spencer defense also recovered 4 Sioux Center fumbles on the night.
Miles Robbins rushed for 155 yards on 14 carries and a Touchdown in the win. Kam Young had 2 Touchdowns on 71 yards of rushing.
Cael Bruning threw 2 Touchdown passes on 5 completions for 92 yards while rushing for a score as well.
Spencer improves to 2-2 on the year and will hit the road again next week to open up District play against LeMars.
Sioux Center goes to Sioux City next week after falling to 0-4. They will play Bishop Heelan to begin Class 3A District 1 play.
On Big Country 107.7, GTRA paid West Bend-Mallard a visit in 8-Player District 2 action.
It was all Titans from the Kickoff.
Casey Hough started the scoring in the 1st quarter with a 42-yard Touchdown run. The Titans had an 8-0 lead after the extra point and would have that lead going in to the second quarter.
The 2nd Quarter is when GTRA really exploded. Casey Hough had 4 Touchdown Passes, three to Jackson Schnell and another to Teegan Hanson.
West Bend-Mallard did get a score with 1:45 left in the 2nd from Austin Schmidt who capped off a quick 3-play 56-yard drive with a 16-yard Touchdown dash.
GTRA led 40-6 going into the half.
Clock began to roll right away in the 3rd quarter, but GTRA cashed in for another score on a 2-yard run by Caleb Swedin, making it 48-6 after the 2-point conversion.
West Bend-Mallard would pick up their 2nd score on an Austin Schmidt pass to Eli Hanson. The PAT was failed and GTRA led 48-12 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
In the 4th, GTRA scored a couple more times. One was Casey Hough collecting his 2nd running touchdown and the other was a big 79-yard run by Kenny Ness with short time left.
GTRA rolled to a 62-12 win.
The Titans had 452 yards, 255 on the ground and 197 through the air. Kasey Hough was 16 of 20 for 4 touchdowns and an interception passing and carried the ball 20 times for 173 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Jaxon Schnell would catch 6 passes for 90 yards and 3 Touchdowns.
The Wolverines were only able to muster 174 yards of offense in the loss. West Bend-Mallard falls to 1-3 on the year and will try to stop the 3-game skid when they travel to Harris-Lake Park next week.
GTRA is now 4-0 and will take a break from District action to host St. Edmond of Fort Dodge.

In non-district play, Harris-Lake Park lost to Newell-Fonda 53-12.
It was a fun night in Class A District 1. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn beat Akron-Westfield 43-34, Sibley-Ocheyedan stays undefeated in district play after a 20-0 shutout of Alta-Aurelia, and MMCRU routed South O’Brien 44-7.
For Class A District 2, Class A #3 West Hancock was too much for North Union as the Warriors lost 46-7.
Class 1A District 2 had Pocahontas Area lose to Manson-Northwest Webster 28-7, Sioux Central roll over Eagle Grove 37-8, and 1A #3 Emmetsburg top East Sac County 42-6.
In Class 2A District 1, Sheldon lost to Central Lyon/George-Little Rock 56-6 and 2A #7 Cherokee was upset by Western Christian of Hull 20-14.
For Class 2A District 2, Okoboji gets district play started with a 40-19 win on the road against Estherville Lincoln Central and 2A #1 Spirit Lake throttled Forest City 56-0.
