Spencer, Ia (KICD) – This is your Friday Night Football Wrap up on KICD.

On News Radio 102.5 and AM 1240 KICD, the Spencer Tigers traveled to LeMars to open up Class 4A District 1 play.

Spencer had a 7-3 lead after a LeMars Field Goal, and the Tigers swung the momentum heavy their way on the following kickoff.

With a 14-3 lead, the Tiger defense forced a punt. Spencer had the ball back with short time on the clock, but found themselves with a 3rd and 15. Instead of opting to chew up the rest of the 1st half clock, Spencer dug a trick play out for the 3rd and long.

Spencer would score a play later on a Kam Young Touchdown run from two yards out and Spencer led 21-3 at halftime.

In the second half, LeMars was able to find the endzone once, but had limited oppurtunities otherwise. Spencer had a scoring drive in teh 3rd quarter that drained seven minutes and 8 seconds off the clock and another that took out 8 minutes in the 4th quarter, both ending up in Touchdowns.

Spencer went in to the Victory formation to take the 35-10 win out of LeMars.

The Tigers outgained the Bulldogs 323-128, with a 246-41 yard advantage on the ground.

Miles Robbins carried the Football 24 times for 107 yards and a couple scores. Kam Young scored twice as well, running for 78 yards on 18 carries.

Spencer is now 3-2 and 1-0 in District 1. They will host Denison-Schleswig next week for homecoming.

LeMars drops to 2-3 on the year and 0-1 in District 1. Next up for the Bulldogs is a trip down Highway 75 to play West of Sioux City.

Over on Big Country 107.7, Class 1A #3 Emmetsburg had no trouble with Sioux Central in a 50-6 route.

The E-Hawks scored a Touchdown in the first quarter and 2 more in the 2nd. One of those scores in teh 2nd quarter was a 46 yard Touchdown run by Gavin Swanson. Emmetsburg took a 21-0 lead in to the half.

Sioux Central was able to get a score in the 3rd quarter on a 48 yard scamper by Owen Mills, but it was overshadowed by Emmetsburg’s Tyce Jenness taking the opening kickoff of the second haalf 70 yards back for a Touchdown.

The E-Hawks scored twice morei n the 4th Quarter and would roll to a 50-6 win.

Brayden Yates, Gavin Swanson, and Tyce Jenness all had over 100 yards rushing as Emmetsburg ran for 463 yards and 6 touchdowns, ultimatley totaling 501 yards of total offense on the night.

The E-Hawks are now 5-0 with a record of 2-0 in Class 1A District 2. They will prepare for a road trip to Pocahontas Area next week.

Sioux Central is now 3-2 and 1-1 in District action. They will be back on the road next week to do battle with Manson-Northwest Webster.

It was a thriller in 8-Player non-district play as GTRA beat St. Edmond of Fort Dodge on the road 54-46 in double overtime. Also in non-district play, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn fell to Kingsley-Pierson 40-12.

In 8-Player District 1, #3 St. Mary’s of Remsen routed Newell-Fonda 50-6.

For 8-Player District 2, West Bend-Mallard picked up a win over Harris-Lake Park 51-12.

South O’Brien took a heartbreaking loss to Alta-Aurelia in double-overtime 34-33. Also in Class A District 1, MMCRU got past Sibley-Ocheyedan 24-19.

In Class A District 2, North Union lost to Lake Mills 34-14.

For Class 1A District 2, Pocahontas Area fell to East Sac County 27-0.

The game of the night was in Class 2A District 1 where Cherokee upset 2A #7 Central Lyon/George-Little Rock on the raod 16-13 in overtime. Also in 2A District 1, Sheldon lost to Unity Christian of Orange City 52-20.

In Class 2A District 2, Estherville Lincoln Central topped Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 18-6 for their first win of the year and 2A #1 Spirit Lake rolled over Okoboji 42-7.

For Class 4A District 1, Storm Lake beat up on West of Sioux City 52-15.
