Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The regular season has officially come to an end for 8-Player, Class A, 1A, and 2A. 3A, 4A, and 5A will go in to their final week before playoffs. This is your KICD Friday Football Wrap Up.
The Spencer Tigers traveled to Storm Lake to take on the 4-3 Tornadoes.
Spencer put together a big 1st Quarter. Miles Robbins scored on an 18-yard Touchdown run. The following drive for Storm Lake, Robbins forced a fumble that Drestin Steele picked up and took to the endzone. Kamden Young would score on a 38-yard Touchdown run as well, and Spencer led 19-0 after the first 12 minutes.
Miles Robbins would find the endzone for the second time in the 2nd and Jack Berends broke free for a 46-yard Touchdown run as well. Spencer would take a 33-0 lead into the locker room.
The Tigers had a bumpy start to the 3rd quarter, losing a fumble to Storm Lake. The Tornadoes would capitalize. Charlie Dvergston found Cam Boyd on a 30-yard Touchdown pass, making the score 33-6. Spencer turned it over on downs in the next drive, but this time, the defense picked up the stop. Miles Robbins scored a 2-yard Touchdown on their next drive, and at the end of the 3rd quarter, the Tigers led 39-6.
Early in the 4th quarter, Spencer’s Kamden Young scored his 2nd Touchdown of the game, giving the Tigers a 46-6 lead and a running clock.
Spencer took that running clock to the end, and came away with the 46-6 win, their 5th in a row as they improve to 6-2 on the season.
The Tigers ran the football 54 times in the game for 438 yards and 6 Touchdowns. Both Miles Robbins and Kam Young scored multiple times and rushed for over 100 yards.
Next week, Spencer will play host to Fort Dodge, trying to lock up a District title, while Storm Lake travels to LeMars.
Emmetsburg would travel to Manson to take on Manson-Northwest Webster for the Class 1A District 2 Championship on Friday night.
The Cougars struck first as Logan Moline drove it in on a run to make it 6-0.
That score would hold through the first half. Emmetsburg finally found the paint on a 35-yard run by Owen Householder, tying the game at 6.
Manson-Northwest Webster would strike back when Matt Condon broke free for a 56-yard Touchdown dash, putting the Cougars up 14-6.
Carson Baak picked up a Touchdown run late in the 4th Quarter for Emmetsburg and would also get the all-important two-point conversion to tie the game at 14.
48 minutes wasn’t enough, so we had overtime in Manson.
In overtime, Kamden Birkey would score a Touchdown for the Cougars, giving them a 20-14 lead. No Emmetsburg score would end the game, as the Cougars spoiled the #3 ranked E-Hawks’ season.
Manson-Northwest Webster claims the Class 1A District 2 championship, and both teams await their drawing for the playoffs which will be released tomorrow morning.

In 8-Player District 1, Newell-Fonda routed Siouxland Christian of Sioux City 42-16.
For 8-Player District 2, Harris-Lake Park lost to #2 Bishop Garrigan 62-0, #10 GTRA thumped North Iowa 66-20, and West Bend-Mallard beat Rockford 58-12.
Class A District 1 had South O’Brien drop to Akron-Westfield 28-17, MMCRU shut-out Alta-Aurelia 28-0, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn fall to #6 Gehlen Catholic of LeMars 47-7, and Sibley-Ocheyedan roll through North Union 51-7.
In Class 1A District 2, Pocahontas Area picked up their first win against Eagle Grove 40-28 and Sioux Central pulled away from East Sac County 42-26.
For Class 2A District 1, Cherokee routed Sheldon 49-6.
Class 2A District 2 had Spirit Lake beat up on Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 42-0, Okoboji topped Forest City 41-25, and Estherville Lincoln Central lost to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 28-6.
