Arnolds Park, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A furnace belching smoke resulted in a 4am (Thursday) firecall for the Arnolds Park / Okoboji fire department. It was to 10 Karita Street – about a block away from the station.
It was quickly determined the source was the furnace and it was shut down. The crew stayed at the scene for about an hour and a half.
The home is still habitable.
Yungbluth says the family was alerted by a smoke detector. He says every home should be equipped with the warning devices, and everyone should also have their furnaces serviced before their heavy, winter usage.
