Marcus, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Sibley-Ocheyedan and MMCRU collided in Marcus Friday night for a Class 1A District 1 battle.
The Royals scored with 5:56 remaining in the 1st quarter when Eli Harpenau found Camden Bork on a 6 yard Touchdown after a 78 yard drive.
MMCRU added to the lead in the 2nd quarter as Harpenau pickeed up another Touchdown pass, this time to Michael Schmillen. The extra point was good, making it 13-0.
In the 3rd quarter, Harpenau’s big night continued with a 19 yard Touchdown run.
He added to that with a 3 yard Touchdown run after a marathon, 95 yard Touchdown drive, giving the Royals a 28-0 lead.
Sibley-Ocheyedan couldn’t get anything going against the MMCRU defense on a night where they only totaled 121 yards of offense.
MMCRU racked up 395. Eli Harpenau ran the ball 15 times for 100 yards and 2 Touchdowns while completing 11 of his 18 passes for 248 yards and 2 Touchdowns with 1 interception.
#3 in Class A MMCRU remains unbeaten on the year at 5-0. Up next for the Royals is a matchup just to the west against Gehlen Catholic of Le Mars.
Sibley-Ocheyedan is 2-3 on the year and the road doesn’t get easier quite yet as they play host to #1 ranked West Hancock.
