Orleans, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Iowa DNR Hatchery in Orleans supplies Walleyes, Muskies, and Norther Pike to lakes all over Iowa. Manager Andrew Carlson says the annual gillnetting operations has begun.

 

While the Walleyes and Muskies comes directly from the lake, the Northern Pike winter elsewhere.

The fish hatchery at the Northern tip of East Okoboji is also a tourist attraction. If the doors are open, you’re welcome to come in and look around.
