Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Barring any unforeseen barriers, bikers will be able to safely ride from Spencer to Milford by this time in 2026. The Dickinson County Bike Trail Association received the final chunk of funding form the state Wednesday, and we talked to Association Director Erin Reed a few minutes later.

Dickinson County Trails has already had good luck in pursuing state grants, and this one was especially attractive.

Reed estimates the price tag to complete the final missing link is two million dollars.
