Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — Students at the Spencer High School have decided a classic musical is the best. Allowed to vote on the fall play they selected 1950’s “Guys and Dolls.”

KICD crashed play practice where Robbie Gerlock was perfecting his slimy Nathan Detroit character.

Garrett Hurst plays big-shot gambler Skye Masterson.

The plot involves Masterson taking a bet that he can get a strait-laced leader of the temperance movement – played by Amanda Prickett – on a weekend getaway to Cuba.

And Abbey Crew – who plays Miss Adelaide – says director Cara Gerlock demands more than just line memorization.

Guys and Dolls plays Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon at the Larry M. Untiet Auditorium at Spencer High School.
