Milford, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — As Halloween approaches, Hallie Dirks, shelter manager at Humane Society of Northwest Iowa in Milford recommends we do our best to keep our animals indoors, and if they get out, having tags can help get them home.
Dirks says if you see an animal loose, do not chase it.
Keep pets away from candy and wrappers by putting them up and away so they don’t eat them.
Dirks says you should call your vet immediately if you see symptoms like that, even if you do not know what they ingested. Through November 15th, the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa is accepting bags of shoes to help raise funds for the shelter.
You can find out more pet safety, fundraising opportunities, and adoption information at the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa website.
