HARTLEY, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Hartley Summerfest kicks off this weekend with four days of family activities, entertainment, food, music and community events.

Committee member Anna McCarty says festivities begin Thursday with a wide variety of things to do throughout the weekend.

 

 

Activities continue Friday with a veteran’s coffee, free swimming, a three-on-three basketball tournament, vendor market, silent auction and live music.

The event will also honor America’s 250th anniversary.

 

 

Events on Saturday include a parade, pedal pull, bags and sand volleyball tournaments, baby races, the H-Town Games obstacle course, a car cruise-in and a Concert in the Park featuring Decoy. Additional entertainment and local vendors will be available throughout the day.

The celebration wraps up Sunday with a community worship service in the park, an omelet breakfast, free swimming and a new golf tournament at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

McCarty says many of the attractions are available at little or no cost.
