Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Local organizations looking for a financial boost have a new opportunity with the City of Spencer. They have officially opened applications for its 2026 grant programs, fueled by local sales and hotel – motel tax revenues

 

“As a reminder, local option sales tax, there will be $50,000 available for that and that will focus on community development and economic development projects that organizations might have. Hotel-motel tax, there’s $100,000 that will be available for agencies to apply for and that needs to be in the focus of either cultural impact, entertainment impact, or recreational impact. All of that will be spelled out in the press release with the timeline and the criteria.” – City Manager Kevin Robinson

Interested agencies or non-profits can find information at the city’s website and Facebook page, and the deadline for application is March 1st. Final awards will be announced in April.
