Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Storm Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire last Sunday.

The Storm Lake home on 110 Hudson Street, belonging to Cooper Sunee Vang and Thongsy Bunchan, burst into flames around noon. The first officer rushed to the scene 4 minutes after the alarm went off, with multiple fire engines and EMS arriving 4 minutes later.

The cause of the fire has been reported as an oven fire and was identified as being accidental by nature. The fire started in their kitchen, but rapidly spread to the rest of the home, causing severe damage to property.

While all residents of the home managed to escape, it has been reported that an unknown number of pets in the home, did not survive.
