Hull, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Hull man has been charged with multiple crimes including attempted murder.
Authorities were called to a disturbance in the 5th Street and Division Street vicinity Monday. They arrived to find two individuals with stab wounds. A short time later a fire was discovered a short distance away at the home of 28-year-old Jorge Gomez-Badillo.
Gomez-Badillo was taken into custody around 3:30pm and according to court documents told authorities he had entered the victim’s home to “take care of them for a crime he observed them commit.” Gomez-Badillo was taken to the hospital for evaluation where he is alleged to have threatened to kill a Doctor, a Deputy, and attempted to send a message to a family threatening their lives.
The stabbing victims were transported to the hospital in Sioux Center. The Hull and Rock Valley fire departments put out the fire, which Gomez-Badillo is suspected of starting himself.
He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, first degree burglary, second degree arson, interference with official acts, possession of cocaine, possession of THC oil, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s office says further charges are possible.
