Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Luck played a role in a potentially dangerous situation Sunday morning. Sheriff Chris Raveling says a tanker of Anhydrous Ammonia slipped away from its tow vehicle at about 7:30am just three miles South of Spencer.

The semi is owned by New Cooperative Inc. and was operated by 60 year old Mark Miller.

The Iowa State Patrol, Royal Fire, and Spencer Ambulance were also called to assist the Clay County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
Anhydrous Ammonia is dangerous to people – especially when inhaled into the lungs.
