Osage, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Negative cash-flow and high interest rates have finally sparked a drop in the price paid for farmland in Iowa. Ann Johanns from ISU Extension compiles the figures for the annual survey.

But the highest values continue to be right here in Northwest Iowa.

The highest to lowest in the broadcast area prices are:
$15,921 dollars in O’Brien County, down 2.4 percent.
Sioux County: $15,617 down 5.5
Lyon county: $15,427 up half a percent
Osceola County: $14,174 unchanged from the 2023 survey.
Buena Vista County: $13,695 down 6.5 percent.
Cherokee: $13,350 down 5.7 percent.
Pocahontas: $13.367 also down 4.7 percent.
Clay County: $13,114 down 5.6 percent.
Then we had Palo Alto County at $12,802 down 5.3 percent; Dickinson County at $12,594 down 4.3 percent; and Emmet County at $12,501 down 6.7 percent.
