Spencer, IA (KICD) — When the flood waters began to rise on June 22nd – so did the Clay County Community Foundation Disaster Recovery Fund.

The Foundation has reported to KICD News that more than $300,000 has been raised for the Disaster Recovery Fund, which allows the Foundation to disburse funds to non-profits and service organizations assisting with disaster recovery efforts.

As of July 23rd, the DRF Committee has granted $137,000 to local non-profit organizations … including Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Community Housing Access & Resource Team, Spencer Kiwanis After 5, Spencer Community Schools Foundation, Spencer High Noon Kiwanis, Shayla Bee Fund, Trinity Pre-School and Daycare, Northwest Iowa Mental Health Center, Spencer Mainstreet, Clay County Heritage, Arts on Grand and the American Red Cross.
