Laurens, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Laurens man has been charged for allegedly stabbing another person in the neck Sunday.

Pocahontas Police Chief Alex Leu says they were called to 200 Nelson Street around 7 Sunday night. An unidentified victim with stab wounds to the neck was rushed to the hospital in Pocahontas and then airlifted to another medical facility with what were described as “serious” injuries. No condition report is available.

49-year-old Mitchell Nehring has been charged with aggravated assault in what police believe was a family dispute that turned violent.
