Milford, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) – A report is out that a lawsuit has been filed against the city of Milford’s Board of Adjustment and a property owner, and the Mayor of Milford is filing that lawsuit.

Mayor Steve Anderson filed the lawsuit in Dickinson County District Court. According to reports, Anderson wants the Board of Adjustment to retract the variance they allowed to a property owner, which relaxed some setback requirements.

Anderson says the city can not properly conduct maintenance or snow removal in that area, and it may be at a higher cost to taxpayers.

The report says Anderson doesn’t believe it complies with city ordinances, Board of Adjustment regulations and city code, and the property owner who requested the variance didn’t show hardship.

There is a hearing scheduled December 9th.
