LeMars, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Two LeMars firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene of a house fire Saturday night.
One reportedly fell partially through a floor, the other sustained back injuries. It appears the blaze started in a bedroom where a lithium battery was being charged.
Just last month during fire prevention week Spencer Fire Chief Jesse Coulsen explained why today’s batteries are more dangerous than previous models.

The owners of that house in LeMars were not home. Two pets managed to get out. The house has been deemed “unlivable.”
