STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — An arrest operation Tuesday morning led to a heavy law enforcement presence and temporary road closures in Storm Lake.

Officers with the Storm Lake Police Department, along with the United States Marshals Service and the Woodbury County K9 Unit, apprehended a wanted fugitive around 11:45 a.m. on April 15.

The arrest took place at 604 West 9th Street, in the 600 block of West 9th Street. Police temporarily closed roads in the area as a precaution.

Authorities identified the suspect as 45-year-old Olgard Tunis, who was wanted on a felony rape warrant issued by Tattnall County, Georgia.

Tunis was taken into custody without incident, and authorities confirmed there was no ongoing threat to the public.

He was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
