Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The volunteer vice-president at Occasions in Spencer says the non-profit group is facing a shortfall because the meals on wheels program has grown exponentially in the past year. Barb Workman tells KICD’s Rhonda Wedeking the organization took over the service about a year ago.

Not only has it created the need for about 180 volunteer hours a month, but also a financial commitment of 11 thousand dollars a month.

Occasions is asking for financial donations to keep Meals on Wheels intact.
