MILFORD, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The City of Milford has approved the final plat for the Harvest Hills housing development project.

The Milford City Council unanimously approved the plans Monday night and also adopted an urban renewal plan to help pay for infrastructure improvements tied to the development.

Developer Doug Holzrichter with Imagine Milford says the project is now ready to move into the construction phase.

 

 

The residential development will bring a mix of housing options to Milford’s west side near the new Okoboji Elementary School. Plans include a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, duplexes and other multi-family housing.

The urban renewal plan approved by the council is intended to help cover the cost of extending infrastructure to the site.

Holzrichter says the groundwork for the project was laid years ago through community investments and growth in the area.

 

 

Holzrichter says the development will be built in stages over time and is expected to add more than 120 lots when complete.

 

 

The final plat was approved with conditions related to streetlights, drainage and required DNR permits.The developers will install streets and utilities, then market the lots to local builders who will construct the homes.
