Milford City Mayor Steve Anderson reflected on the results of RAGBRAI, as nearly 20,000 riders stopped in Milford during the annual cross-state cycling event.

Mayor Anderson said he was pleased with how the day unfolded and praised the community’s response.

Although the city is still waiting on the final financial figures, Anderson said early signs point to a profitable outcome. Local businesses reported strong sales, and the council discussed the impact during their regular city council meeting on Monday, July 28.

Despite the large crowds, safety remained a priority. Lakes Regional Healthcare treated around 50 people for minor injuries such as scratches and bruises. Police reported no major incidents.

Looking ahead, city leaders are already considering ways to improve future RAGBRAI stops. Anderson acknowledged the success but noted there’s always room to grow.

With positive feedback from riders and strong community turnout, Milford’s RAGBRAI stop was a standout moment for the city.
