MILFORD, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Two new city council members and a new mayor have officially joined the Milford City Council.

During Monday’s regular meeting, outgoing Mayor Steve Anderson administered the oath of office to newly elected Mayor Robert Clark.

Clark, who retired as Milford’s police chief in 2022, launched a last-minute write-in campaign and won with 219 votes in November’s election. Anderson had been seeking to step down after two terms.

Following Clark’s swearing-in, McIntyre Arndt and Jantina Carney took the oath as council members. Arndt secured 213 votes, while Carney won with 216 write-ins.

Arndt, Carney, and Clark will officially assume their roles January 1, replacing Councilmembers Doug Frederick and David Worshek and Mayor Steve Anderson, whose terms expire December 31.
