Spirit Lake, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) – Northwest Iowa is set to host a unique cultural and historical discussion today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Horseshoe Bend from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
**** Previously we had reported Gull Point State Park as the location. The location is Horseshoe Bend, part of the Dickinson County Nature Center area.
The event, titled “Riverside Chat with Cody Seaboy,” will feature Cody Seaboy, a member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe, in conversation with Author, Professor, and renowned rural and environmental historian Kevin Mason. Mason says the “Riverside Chat” is part of the broader Little Sioux River Inkpaduta Canoe Trail Speaker Series.
The Little Sioux River is home to the Inkpaduta Canoe Trail which is being designated by the Iowa DNR to improve access and recreation along its nearly 200 miles in a collaborative effort between Buena Vista County Conservation, Iowa Water Trails, Lakes Laboratory and many other partners. Future speaking events continue through the summer, and the schedule is at www.InkpadutaCanoeTrail.org
