Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — There are changes to the Clay County Fair every year. You won’t see most of the physical improvements, because they are new roofs on several structures.
Manager Jerome Hertel tells Northwest Iowa Now you’ll also have to seek out the Classic Tractor display:
And for concert goers who still haven’t had enough, there will be two after parties.
Some of the traditional Special Days at the fair are back with a couple of new ones.
Popular traditions are Veteran’s Day on Monday, Senior Day and FFA Day on Tuesday, and Iowa Corn Day and Farmer’s Appreciation Day on Thursday.
In addition to Disability Awareness Day on Wednesday, it will also be the first every First Responder’s Day at the Clay County Fair.
The first Saturday is Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Day and Iowa Vs. Iowa State Game Day. The second Saturday is Science Saturday courtesy of ISU Extension and Iowa Lakes Community College.
Friday will be a very busy day. It’s Kid’s Day with all-day wristbands at the carnival, it’s Iowa Dairy Day, and for the first time it’s Kwik Star Day, and also to commemorate 50 years in business, it’s Rosenboom Day.
