Northwest Iowa (Northwest Iowa Now) — Late Saturday morning the KICD studios were inundated with several reports of numerous funnel clouds forming between Spencer and Everly.

The warm and unstable airmass, along with an approaching outflow boundary from southern Nebraska, made conditions favorable for funnel clouds to develop. A listener reported to KICD they could see 4 funnel clouds at one time west and south of Spencer. One listener reported one funnel cloud did touch down briefly near Scharnberg Park, east of Everly. The National Weather Service did not issue any warnings, however, tornado sirens did sound in Spencer.

As the system slowly moved east, there was a Thunderstorm Warning issued for portions of Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties Saturday afternoon.

The Spencer Media Group would like to thank the public for all the reports, photos and videos that were sent to us.
